I need a personal photo project again. I need some rules, some sort of challenge. Should I give 365 self portraits a go again, or try something new? If so, what?
new project i just made up.
colors.
sunday: red
monday: orange
tuesday: yellow
wednesday: green
thursday: blue
friday: never mind indigo, friday is for black things and white things and
saturday: violet
repeat until satisfied, or until you’ve got ten good example of each.
redshrike beat me to it. I was gonna recommend something similar.
Could also be done as shapes or textures or angles.
– zigzags
– diagonals
– curves
– waves
– straight lines
– triangles
– squares
– 90 degree angles
etc.
Or work on framing and layout (without resorting to photoshop):
– only shots that are dark on the left and light on the right
– only shots whose subjects are halfway outside the frame on the right side
– only shots that are light on the top and dark on the bottom
– only shots that are bright and saturated on the upper left of the shot and dull in the rest of the shot.
