These are from my visit to New York City between January and February of 2011. The plan was to just use New York as a two day layover before continuing onto the Midwest, but partially thanks to meeting a particular someone while in Berlin, I got stuck in the big apple for about two weeks. Previously I had an utter distaste for the city, but after my time there I fell in love with it. There was even a brief afternoon where I roamed around Manhattan and Brooklyn deliberating the possibility of moving there.
Also apparently New Yorkers freak out easily over the tiniest bit of snow, or so I felt after spending a few winters in Minneapolis and Chicago.
During my previous stay in Minneapolis, Star5 and a few others informed me that I should seek out Vo's Cafe in San Diego, and his legendary Skaht Sauce. Additionally I was to order the mock duck potato dish.
Vo had moved from Minneapolis to San Diego in search of nicer weather, but stated he was thinking of possibly moving back to Minneapolis due to better business. When I told him what group of people led me to his little hut, he instantly remembered and said he missed them.
The mock duck dish was no longer on the menu, but he said just for me he'd attempting to make it again. The food was great and I rather enjoyed the sauce. He wouldn't share with me the recipe. Charming fellow.
The competition was close was close, but not so close. Both Alanna and I feel we did quite well in our abilities to photograph things and were very happy with our results. Out of the total votes, Alanna won by a 19 point lead.

All in all we were very happy with the challenges this competition made us face and plan to do another one soon.
Alanna Simone and I challenged each other to a photo competition, spurred off by an SFZero task. We had a total of five items to shoot, plus we gave the other 3 extra special challenges, for a total of eight photos each. After a week we got together and reviewed what we shot.
At first we thought it would be fun to throw the photos online and see if our friends could guess who's were who's, but quickly agreed that would be too easy. What we decided on was just to ask friends to vote on their top picks with no labeling on which photos were who's. So here we are, ready to ask you to take a look and select which ones you fancy the most. In the end we'll post the results if we feel like it, and most likely throw the photos online with more information.
