Packing my bags for another bike trip. This time I'm heading out on a 3 - 4 day trek to a decommissioned Titan missile silo 230 miles East of Seattle for the Toorcamp hacker conference. The whole thing will last through the forth of July weekend, camping with the Noisebridge contingency, and I think I'll be staying a bit after to help clean up.
I'm set to leave in a hand full of hours with two other Seattle locals. I've setup my iPhone to keep track of where I am and post the information online. You can check my progress on my new spiffy Locate page.
Looking forward to some interesting interactions at Toor.

The competition was close was close, but not so close. Both Alanna and I feel we did quite well in our abilities to photograph things and were very happy with our results. Out of the total votes, Alanna won by a 19 point lead.
To see which of the photos were mine and to view in a larger resolution, check out the photo album or just play a slide show. Alanna's batch can be found on here.
All in all we were very happy with the challenges this competition made us face and plan to do another one soon.

A pursuit across the city in 6 parts on the night of Saturday, June 20th 7PM.
Wear comfortable shoes, bring water.
The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it. For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.
Journey to the End of the Night is a free street game of epic proportion, presented across the city of Oakland. Players will try to make it through a series of checkpoints, while avoiding being caught by chasers. Those who fall will become chasers themselves, rising to pursue their former friends and allies. No skates, no bikes, no cars, just your feet and good old public transportation.
